2018: A Year in Review – The Olden Chapters

The end of 2018 marks the first complete year for The Olden Chapters. How exciting is that?! This blog has come a long way since January of 2018. It has covered quite a few topics and has morphed into a something that I am so proud of. Let’s dive into all of the topics and highlights of the year!

Travel

Traveling Around Colorado

At the beginning of the year, I published numerous traveling posts that reflected my life at the time. My weekends were filled with hiking and exploring Colorado, leading to numerous blog posts including:

Hanging Lake Hike, Colorado

Summer Adventures

As the year went on, we began exploring neighboring states, and had the amazing opportunity to see well over ten of the most famous US National Parks!

Grand Prismatic Springs, Yellowstone National Park

College

As the year went on, I moved my content more towards academic assistance. My goal for this blog was (and still is!) to help college students. Creating new content to see this happen became a huge priority of mine in the spring and summer. This lead to countless blog posts, ranging in all different categories.

Study Tips and College Preparation

The core of all college tips is how to reach your academic goals… right? Well, that is the way I see it! Study tips and tricks, as well as preparing for a successful semester are some of the main topics I covered this year and I truly hope they have been useful.

College Essentials

Along with study tips, knowing what to bring to campus can make or break how any student’s day goes!

Studying Abroad

One great way to boost any student’s resume is studying abroad! This is also a great (and productive) way to see the world and getting out of your comfort zone. I have now had the pleasure of studying abroad twice and loved it! I shared my experiences as well as my top tips.

Career and Budget Tips for Students

The entire reason we all attend college is to eventually land a great career. However, there is no class in college titled “How to Find your Dream Job,” or “How to Kill your Next Interview.” (If there is, you are truly getting your money’s worth with your university!) Furthermore, as we all very well know, college can be a struggle to finance. These two problems lead me to cover a range of budget and career-related topics to help students along their way.

Productivity

As the year began to dwindle down, productivity became a huge focus of this blog. Individuals juggle so much more priorities while in college than any other time in their lives. This leads to countless challenges that can be solved with a few easy productivity tips.

Goodbye 2018, Hello 2019

Well, that was my year! I had so much fun putting together these blog posts just for you and I hope that, at least some of them were found to be helpful! There are so many great and new plans for 2019 and I can not wait to share them!

I hope your 2018 was equally as successful and enlightening and that 2019 brings with it new opportunities and adventures. Happy New Year!
